The Active collection deliberately resists the current industry aesthetics of technical eyewear. We create sunglasses with meticulous craftsmanship to perform in sport and to transcend it. We want athletes of all levels to own versatile eyewear that emboldens personal style while enhancing movement from the saddle to the city, trail to town, or racing to relaxing.

The Article One Active x Optical collection was created to extend the same ethos and design sense of our ACTIVE sun collection into the optical category. For this technical performance collection, we are using a new material called GKM. GKM is a polymer plastic – proprietary to our family-owned factory partners in Northern Italy – that is lighter, more flexible, and more scratch resistant than acetate.

Article One frames are handmade by passionate craftspeople. The family-owned factories we work with are experts at what they do. We work to give credit where credit is due by shining a light on the hands that touch each frame. The care put into Article One eyewear results in quality you can feel.

Article One was lucky enough to collaborate with our friend and artist Maxine McCrann to create illustrations inspired by our SS22 collection. Because the illustrations were so special, we decided to work with Maxine to produce a limited number of prints.
